For the past several months, ANN has been quietly working on a new project that we made much more visible to our readers with our new layout, but never officially announced.
Anime News Network Australia marks Anime News Network's first International site, focusing on providing Australian anime fans with the same anime news coverage that Anime News Network has provided North American fans since 1998.
ANN Australia, located at AnimeNewsNetwork.com.Au features a mix of original Australian content, as well as Japanese and international content from Anime News Network.
In addition to news, ANN Australia features reviews of anime and manga released in Australia (reviewed by Australian writers), coverage of Australian anime events, and other original content.
ANN Australia also features its own separate web-forums (although user accounts are universal across all of Anime News Network).
Jon Hayward acts as editor in chief of Anime News Network Australia. Hayward is also publisher and editor in chief of the tri-annually published magazine JAMWAF and former vice-president of Japanese Animation Fans of Western Australia (JAMWA). He is also the co-founder of RFLan and has been involved with Wai-Con since its creation over four years ago.
