The September issue (on sale August 3) of the Ribon shōjo manga magazine announced that Konami Sonoda's ChocoMimi chibi fashion manga will be adapted as a live-action television drama series. The super-deformed gag manga follows two school friends (Choco Sakurai and Mimi Nekota) on their adventures with their friends and pets (Choco's dog Chiffon and Mimi's cat Huckleberry), as well as their changing fashion styles.
Masami Kurumada, the renowned shōnen manga creator of Saint Seiya, Ring ni Kakero, and B'tX, announced in a July 26 weblog entry that his Fūma no Kojirō manga will also be adapted as a live-action television drama series. The story centers on Kojirō, a seemingly ordinary high school student who is actually one of the last descendants of the Fūma ninja clan. He protects his academy from rivals from another school who are the descendants of the Yasha clan.
