Animate TV to Stream Higurashi Kai Online for Free

Animate.tv Web, the online arm of the Animate anime and comic shop chain in Japan, has announced that it will start streaming the Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai mystery series online from episode 12 onward for free on October 24. The decision comes after some stations preempted or cancelled the series due to Japan's recent juvenile axe assault cases. Each episode will be available for free for one week, and then sold at regular price afterwards. Animate.tv has used the Bandai Channel for its online video distribution service, which requires Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, and a Japanese network address. Source: Saishin Anime Jōhō
