Shokotan's Blog Hero Character Gets Manga in Magazine

posted on by Egan Loo
Shōko Nakagawa's Sukashikashipanman already made into anime

The October issue (released on August 27) of Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine has announced that the Sukashikashipanman ~Manzara Demo Nai Daibōken~ hero manga will debut in the next issue with character designs by singer/voice actress Shōko Nakagawa (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Eyeshield 21). "Shokotan," as Nakagawa's fans have nicknamed her, created an illustration of a hero character based on her interest in sand dollars (sukashikashipan) in 2007. After showcasing the design on her blog and television appearances, Nakagawa turned the character in a mini-franchise with anime on mobile phone websites and even an official pastry bun. An anime project called Sukashikashipanman the Movie was just released on August 6. Nakagawa has drawn Sukashikashipanman manga in her blog, but the Comic Dengeki Daioh manga will be drawn by artist Arima Honda.
