Australian FMA Team are First WCS 2009 Finalists (Updated)

With a Fullmetal Alchemist skit, the team of Katherine Lee and Gabriella Lowgren have become the first two finalists selected for the 2009 World Cosplay Summit. They were selected from a total of seven teams that came together for the national final round held on August 24 at the Animania Festival in Sydney. This is the first time that Australia is participating in the competition.

Additional national rounds will be held throughout the rest of the year and the first half of 2009. The Summit itself will run in Nagoya, Japan, in August. The 2008 competition was won by a team from Brazil, with the Chinese team coming in second, and one of the two duos of Japanese competitors receiving a sponsor's prize.
