Eiko Shimamiya, the main vocalist of the I've Sound group, revealed on her Twitter account on Tuesday that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer on May 10. As a result, her official website announced that her "Eiko Shimamiya 2010 Live 'Perfect World'" concert, which was slated for June 20, was cancelled.
Shimamiya performed the theme songs for the first When They Cry - Higurashi television series and several other projects based on Ryukishi07/07th Expansion's popular When They Cry - Higurashi (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) multimedia franchise, including the later anime projects and the live-action film version.
