Katushiro Otomo's classic will be reissued on DVD and Blu-Ray in Steelbook format.

Manga Entertainment has annouced via twitter that it will release its remaster of Akira on Blu-Ray and DVD in a 'Steelbook' format (i.e. with an outer metal shell). As announced previously, Akira is provisionally scheduled for a July 27th release.

The Steebook will have a paper wrap, and contain the Blu-Ray and DVD discs, plus a booklet. However, Manga isn't able to include the Akira Production Report Making-of film, previously released on videotape and DVD. Manga will be working from the Kodansha/Bandai master released in America, and will use the same design (pictured right).

Meanwhile, Manga Entertainment has just released the third two-disc volume of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, containing episodes 27 to 39. The fourth volume will be released on April 25th, containing episodes 40 to 52 (the full series runs 64 parts). Next week (February 28th), Manga releases its fourth volume of Vampire Knight. carrying episodes 11 to 13 of the series.
