London Expo Claims Almost 60,000 Attendees

Event claims 'record-breaking' figure for May Expo.

The London Expo claims that almost 60,000 people attended last month's three-day event from May 27 to 29. From the website:

As the sun shone down on London this past bank holiday weekend a record breaking almost 60,000 people descended on to the Excel London for the 2011 May MCM Expo and what an event they witnessed.

The event opened on Friday and saw VIP's and attendees alike treated to a myriad of stalls boasting everything from Anime and Manga to American themed candy. Attendees also got to take part in exclusive signings from British comics legend Pat Mills, explore the expanded and artist full Comic Village, watch exclusive podcasts from gaming giants Gamespot (Guest starring games company Volition) and then finally wrap up the day by attending the 2010 Eagle Awards hosted by Futurama's Billy West! When the doors re-opened on Saturday, the queues snaked as far as the eye could see and were some of the biggest seen in the event's history, even prompting some of the star guests to get out their cameras and take photos of this incredible sight.

The next Expo (the twentieth) is scheduled for October 28 to 30. It will run at the Excel centre alongside the Memorabilia Show, the UK's biggest collector's fair.
