posted on by Egan Loo
The streaming service Niconico revealed that it will be streaming the television anime series High School DxD, Senki Zesshō Symphogear, and Detective Opera Milky Holmes 2 (Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Dai-Ni-Maku) "soon."
Ichiei Ishibumi's original High School DxD light novel series centers around Issei Hyōdō, a dim-witted, lecherous second-year high school student who is killed by a girl on his first date ever. Issei (Yuuki Kaji) is reincarnated as a devil, and from that day forward, he serves as an underling of Riasu (Yōko Hikasa), a high-level devil who is also the prettiest girl on Issei's campus. Tetsuya Yanagisawa is directing at the anime studio TNK with script writer Takao Yoshioka and character designer Junji Goto. The series premiered in Japan on January 6, and Funimation licensed the anime for North America.
Senki Zesshō Symphogear follows a female vocal duo named Zweiwing and two ordinary schoolgirls who fight to save humanity against a threat known as "Noise." Composer Noriyasu Agematsu of the music group Elements Garden and game producer Akifumi Kaneko (Wild Arms) created this project. Tatsufumi Itō is directing the project at Encourage Films with assistance by the studio Satelight (Macross Frontier) and its staff members such as Thomas Romain and Stanislas Brunet. Nana Mizuki, Minami Takayama, Aoi Yūki, and Yuka Iguchi lead the cast. The series premiered in Japan on January 6.
Detective Opera Milky Holmes 2 is the second series based on the detective romance adventure game about four budding female private eyes. The series premiered in Japan on January 5. Crunchyroll streamed the first anime season outside Japan as it aired in 2010, and a television special aired last summer.
