Upotte!! Manga to Bundle Original Anime BD in October

Kadokawa Shoten confirmed on Monday that the limited edition of Kitsune Tennouji's fourth Upotte!! manga volume will bundle an original anime Blu-ray Disc in October. The Blu-ray Disc will include an all-new anime episode, about 25 minutes long, that cannot be seen elsewhere. The manga will come with an alternate cover and an exclusive box.
In the story, a newly hired teacher discovers that the female students at his school all have excellent marksmanship skills — and happen to be anthropomorphized assault rifles. Iori Nomizu and Misuzu Togashi lead the cast as Funko and Ichiroku, respectively. (The students' names reference the Japanese pronunciations for FNC, M16A4, and other guns.)
Takao Kato is directing the the main anime series at the studio Xebec, and Naruhisa Arakawa is in charge of the scripts. Akio Takami redesigned the characters for the anime, which Nico Nico Douga's live service will begin streaming the advance showings of the main anime in Japan in April.
