Lupin III Event Page Removes Mention of 'New TV Series'

posted on by Ko Ransom

The TOHO CINEMAS announcement for a 40th anniversary Lupin III anime event, which earlier this week had listed a promotional video for a "new television series premiering in April," has been revised. The event's page now only mentions a promotional video for a "new work." The event featuring Lupin III manga creator Monkey Punch and other "surprise guests" will take place in Japan at 7:30 p.m. on March 18.

An NTV television ad announced last April that a "new television series of Lupin III" would air last fall. However, NTV then told ANN that the New Lupin III TV project would be a special, Lupin III: Chi no Kokuin Eien no Mermaid, which would eventually air last December. The official website for the 40th anniversary has since announced on January 28 that a "new project is launching this spring," but gave no further details.
