Merger of multiple web manga magazines forces cancellation of title, tankobon

Manga author Kia Asamiya announced through a post on his blog this Wednesday that his Himegami Gadget manga series is being forced to come to an end with this month's issue of the online manga magazine FlexComix Next due to the publication's merger into the Comic Meteor online manga magazine. Asamiya describes the events leading to the cessation of the series as "all too sudden," and apologizes in the post to readers looking forward to more of the series.

This month's issue of FlexComix Next is scheduled to be released on September 25, and it will contain the twelfth and final chapter of the series. Asamiya also writes that both chapter 11 and 12 will not be collected into a tankobon volume, despite the first ten chapters of the series receiving a total of two in the past. The incorporation of both the FlexComix Blood and FlexComix Next publications into Comic Meteor was also announced on Wednesday.

A total of fifteen titles from the FlexComix publications will continue to be published in Comic Meteor, including Sato Fujiwara's Nyan Koi!, as well as the Haiyore! Super Nyaruko-chan Time manga adaptation of Manta Aisora's Haiyore! Nyaruko-san light novel series.

Under his birth name Michitaka Kikuchi, Asamiya worked on Detonator Orgun, Hades Project Zeorymer, Sonic Soldier Borgman, and many other titles. Under his Asamiya pen name, he drew such manga as Compiler, Dark Angel, Silent Möbius, Steam Detectives, and the adaptation of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He was a guest at this year's FanimeCon event.
