Tough & Riki-Oh's Saruwatari to Launch Manga About Wrestler

This year's 25th issue of Shueisha's Grand Jump announced on Wednesday that Tetsuya Saruwatari, the creator of such fighting manga as Tough and Riki-Oh, is previewing his new Tadayoedo Shizumazu manga series in the folllowing issue on December 5. Saruwatari already published a one-shot Tadayoedo Shizumazu manga in Grand Jump this past May.
The story follows Samson Takagi, a professional wrestler who finds himself caught in the middle of struggle between the yakuza and street gangs. A 45-page prologue for the series will run in Grand Jump on December 5.
Saruwatari also launched another new series titled Gokusai in Shueisha's Young Jump magazine in September, after creating a three-chapter Tough spinoff called Devils x Devil: Kiryu in Paris. Saruwatari ended his Tough manga in July, and its 39th book volume shipped in Japan on August 17. The manga inspired the original video anime Shootfighter Tekken in 2004.
