Aniplex USA to release anime DVD of Junji Ito's horror manga on July 9

Aniplex of America began streaming a English-subtitled trailer for the GYO: Tokyo Fish Attack anime on Sunday:

In this adaptation of Junji Ito's Gyo horror manga, mutant fish with metal legs emerge from the sea to attack Japan. Amidst the carnage, Kaori embarks on a desperate quest to find her missing boyfriend before he is lost to the mayhem that is sweeping the land.

Aniplex of America will release the anime on English-subtitled DVD on July 9, and retailers began accepting pre-orders on Monday. The DVD will retail for US$37.98, discounted to US$29.98. The anime debuted last year with animation by ufotable (Fate/Zero, The Garden of Sinners), and Viz Media published the original manga by Ito (Tomie, Uzumaki) in North America.
