Viz's Weekly Shonen Jump Adds New Akira Toriyama Series

The July 1 issue of Viz Media's Weekly Shonen Jump English digital magazine announced on Monday that Akira Toriyama's (Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump) new Jaco the Galactic Patrolman (Ginga Patrol Jako) manga series will premiere in the magazine starting with the July 15 issue. The comedy series follows "the story of a powerful alien policeman stranded on Earth." The series will debut as one of three new manga in the 33rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump on July 13 to mark the 45th anniversary of the magazine in Japan.
Additionally, to celebrate the anniversary, the the English version of Weekly Shonen Jump will also include "special super-color" chapters of One Piece and Naruto, and an all-color version of One-Punch Man, also in the July 15 issue.
Viz Media's Weekly Shonen Jump is also currently serializing the full-color version of Dragon Ball, and also published Toriyama's one-shot manga "Kintoki" in January.
Viz Media has also published Toriyama's Dragon Ball, Sand Land, Cowa!, and Dr. Slump manga in North America.
