XSeed Games announced on Tuesday that its action/hack-and-slash video game Killer is Dead will arrive on North American consoles on August 27. The game will retail around US$59.99 and will be playable on PlayStation3 and Xbox 360. The initial launch copies of the game will come with an 80-page hardcover art book, a 25-track original soundtrack, a "Smooth Operator" DLC pack containing bonus in-game goods "Gigolo Glasses," an alternate costume for Vivienne and Mika, a bonus "Gigolo Mission" with Betty, and an entire additional episode with the vampiric Sebastian.
Killer is Dead is set in a contemporary world where biomechanical augmentation is increasingly common. Players control Mondo Zappa, a professional "Executioner" who wields a sword in his right hand while brandishing interchangeable weapons in his left artificial arm. Mondo encounters all manner of violent adversaries in his global trek to fulfill contracts for ridding the world of its most nefarious criminals.
XSeed announced its plans to bring both Killer is Dead and Rune Factory 4 to North America this past January. Marvelous AQL and Neverland's Rune Factory 4 simulation/role-playing game will be on the Nintendo 3DS system this summer.
