Chihayafuru Manga Has 10 Million Copies in Circulation

This year's 18th issue of Kodansha's Be Love magazine announced on Saturday that volumes of Yuki Suetsugu's karuta card manga have 10 million copies in circulation. The 22nd volume of the manga will ship on September 13, and a limited edition of that volume will bundle an original anime DVD.

Suetsugu's manga follows a schoolgirl named Chihaya who competes in the Japanese card game of karuta. The manga inspired a 25-episode television anime season from October 2011 to March 2012, and the second season of the series premiered in Japan on January 11. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired and has streamed the second season outside of Japan.
