3rd game based on Retro Game Master TV series to ship on March 20

Bandai Namco Games began streaming the first promotional video for the Game Center CX 3-Chome no Arino (Game Center CX: Arino on 3rd Street) game on Thursday. After a two-month delay, the game is slated to ship for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on March 20.

The game will feature a new adventure mode where the main character lives in a city district during the 1980s. Like previous games, the latest title includes retro in-game games that cover genres including action, shooting, and role-playing game. For the first time in the series, a two-player mode allows players to cooperate or battle against each other. The limited-edition version will retail at 7,480 yen (about US$72), while the regular edition will cost 5,480 yen (US$53).

The upcoming title is the third game based on the Game Center CX television series and the first one for the Nintendo 3DS. The original television series was dubbed into English as Retro Game Master, and Xseed Games released the first Nintendo DS game as Retro Game Challenge in North America.

Game Center CX is also inspiring a live-action film with series star and comedian Shinya Arino. The film is slated to open in Japan on February 22.
