The website for Kodansha's Kiss magazine unveiled the cast for the live-action film adaptation of Aoi Ikebe's Tsukuroi Tatsu Hito manga on Monday. Miki Nakatani (Densha Otoko's heroine, Happily Ever After's Yukie) will lead the cast of the film as seamstress Ichie. The cast will also star Takahiro Miura (Space Battleship Yamato's Furuya), Hairi Katagiri, Haru Kuroki (Wolf Children's Yuki), Hana Sugisaki, Mie Nakao, Masatō Ibu, and Kimiko Yo (Cutie Honey's Golden Claw). In addition, Yukiko Mishima (Shiawase no Pan, Budō no Namida) will direct the film.

To prepare the role, Nakatani cut her long hair to a very short hairstyle. She commented on the matter, saying, "I believed this would be the best hairstyle to convey the personality of Ichie, who is similar to a Stray Dog who has been trained."

The film will open in Japanese theaters in January 2015.

The original manga revolves around seamstress Ichie, a young woman who has inherited her grandmother's Western dressmaking shop. In the story's first volume, Ichie is sewing a wedding dress for a close friend. While sewing, Ichie remembers her grandmother Yukino, who first opened the shop in order to make her daughter Hiroe's wedding dress. Now her grandmother's dresses will be on display in a department store and Ichie wonders if wearing these clothes are really a blessing...

Ikebe launched the series in Kiss Plus in 2010 and the fifth compiled volume will ship in Japan on March 13. Ikebe is also serializing the Kagome Kagome manga in Akita Shoten's Champion Tap! online magazine.
