Apple's Steve Jobs & Woz Inspire Manga by Tokyo Toybox's Ume
posted on by Egan Loo
Ume, the manga creator duo known for Tokyo Toybox, will launch a new series called Steves in this year's 14th issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior magazine on June 27. The manga will follow the early years of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the co-founders of the technology company Apple. While the ebook site Puboo is already running the manga, the Big Comic Superior serialization will include major rewrites.
Thermae Romae manga creator Mari Yamazaki created Steve Jobs, another manga series based on Walter Isaacson's authorized biography of the Apple founder. The same biography is inspiring a planned live-action film with a script by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, The West Wing, A Few Good Men). Ume's own Tokyo Toybox inspired a live-action television project.
