Viz Media's SuBLime Imprint Adds Shungiku Nakamura's Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi

Boys-love manga's 1st volume to ship next February

North American manga publisher Viz Media announced on Monday that the company's SuBLime boys-love imprint will publish Shungiku Nakamura's Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi ~Onodera Ritsu no Baai~ manga under the title The World's Greatest First Love: The Case of Ritsu Onodera in February 2015. The series will be released every other month and only in print format at this time.

SuBLime describes the story:

Tired of accusations that family connections got him his current position, Ritsu Onodera quits his job as an editor at his father's company and transfers to Marukawa Publishing. Once there, he is assigned to the shojo manga editorial department—something he has no interest in and no experience with! Having sworn he'd never fall in love again, the last thing he wants to do is work on love stories. To make matters worse, it turns out that his overbearing boss, Masamune Takano, is actually his first love from high school!

Nakamura's manga inspired two anime series, an original video anime (OVA) project, and the Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi: Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai light novel series. In turn, the light novel series inspired an anime film this past spring. Crunchyroll streamed both of the television anime series.

Nakamura's Junjo Romantica manga also inspired two television series and an OVA. Nozomi released both series on DVD in North America. Nakamura's Hybrid Child manga will get a four-episode original video anime beginning this year. Tokyopop, JManga, and Digital Manga Publishing released various volumes of Nakamura's manga in English.
