One Piece: Episode of Chopper Raises Fuji TV's New Year's Eve Ratings

The 2014 special edition of the 2008 film One Piece: Episode of Chopper + Fuyu ni Saku, Kiseki no Sakura aired on Fuji TV on Wednesday and earned an average 3.3% rating in Tokyo's Kantō region, according to Video Research. In its New Year's Eve time slot of 9:00-11:00 p.m., the movie with a newly added epilogue went up against the second half of NHK's Red & White Song Battle, the most popular music program of the year.
One year ago, Fuji TV aired the 1964-2020 Tokyo no Yume to Kiseki no Monogatari (1964-2020 The Story of Tokyo's Dreams and Miracles) about the two Tokyo Olympics from 8:55 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. on New Year's Eve 2013. By comparison, it earned 2.0%.
Red & White Song Battle earned 35.1% (first half) and 42.2% (second half) ratings in 2014. By contrast, the same program earned 36.9% (first half) and 44.5% (second half) rating in 2013.
