The play is the second stage play adaptation of Usamaru Furuya's Teiichi no Kuni manga. The original manga's story follows the high school student Teiichi Akaba and his student government struggles at a private boys' school in Shōwa-era Japan.

Gakuran Kageki: Teiichi no Kuni - Kessen no Mime Mime stars Ryo Kimura as protagonist Akaba Teiichi, and Jingi Irie as Dan Ookata. The first stage play, titled Gakuran Kageki: Teiichi no Kuni, premiered at the PARCO Theater on April 18 and ran until May 6. TC Entertainment released the DVD of the first stage play on October 31. Gakuran Kageki: Teiichi no Kuni - Kessen no Mime Mime will run at AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo from July 12-20, and at the Umeda Arts Theater in Osaka on July 25 and 26.

Usamaru Furuya (Jisatsu Circle, Lychee Light Club, No Longer Human) launched Teiichi no Kuni in the inaugural issue of Jump SQ. 19 in May 2010, but moved the manga to the main Jump Square magazine in its March 2012 issue. Shueisha shipped the ninth compiled book volume last August 4.
