New releases from Studio Canal and MVM

On Monday July 13, Studio Canal will release the Studio Ghibli film The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, directed by Isao Takahata. The Oscar-nominated film retells the thousand year-old story of a girl who is born from a bamboo shoot and adopted by a peasant couple. The film will be released in DVD and double-play DVD/Blu-ray editions, as well as a Collector's Edition (pictured) which includes five art-cards.

MVM will release Patlabor The Mobile Police: The New Files (under the title Patlabor Mobile Police OVA Series 2 Collection). This is the second OVA series in the Patlabor franchise; it runs sixteen episodes and was spun off from the 1989 Patlabor the Mobile Police television series. In the MVM edition, the first four episodes are dubbed and subtitled, while the other twelve episodes are subbed only.

A previous story wrongly claimed that Patlabor OVA S2 would be released on June 28. Apologies for the mistake.
