PS3/PS Vita fighting game gets N. American/European release on October 6

Sega America began streaming an English character roster video on Thursday for its upcoming release of the Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita fighting game.

Sega plans to release the game in North America and Europe on October 6.

The game's Western release will have a "special launch edition" with a soundtrack CD of music from notable Sega composers, including Teruhiko Nakagawa, Naofumi Hataya, Kenichi Tokoi, and Jun Senoue. The special launch edition will only be available for those who pre-order the game, and a limited number of launch retail copies. The European release will be digital-only.

The game is a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita port of Sega's arcade fighting game that features characters from ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko light novel titles. Mami Kawada performs the opening theme song "belief."

The Dream Duel mode that debuts in the home version includes new conversation events and battles. The game is designed so that both new and experienced players can enjoy gameplay. Players can use in-game points to customize character colors and unlock special content. The game allows players to save data between the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3.

Publisher ASCII Media Works and game developer Sega announced the original Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax crossover 2D arcade fighting game at the Tokyo Game Show 2013 event. Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax then shipped for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on November 13.

Sega also announced an updated version of the game titled Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition, and released the game in Japanese arcades last month. The update includes new characters and systems (such as the new ability to pick two support characters and an "Ignition" system), and re-balance existing characters. Ecole and French Bread again developed the game.
