Funimation to Launch Updated Streaming App, Add New Devices

Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Windows 10 Universal apps slated for February

Funimation Entertainment announced on Thursday that it is launching a revamped streaming service called FunimationNow in February. As part of the renewal, the FunimationNow app will launch on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Windows 10 Universal.

Redesigned iOS, Android, and Kindle apps are also slated for February. Funimation will launch a redesigned website and updated gaming console and Roku apps in May.

In addition, Funimation announced that the app is slated to launch in the United Kingdom.

Funimation partnered with Sony DADC New Media Solutions to utilize the company's Ven.ue channel creation service. Sony and Funimation are offering demos of FunimationNow at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The current Funimation streaming app is available on iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, Roku, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
