4th & Final Tamayura Film's Video Previews Maaya Sakamoto Song

Delayed film to open in Japan on April 2

Shochiku began streaming a 30-second promotional video for Tamayura: Sotsugyō Shashin Dai-4-bu Ashita -Ashita- (Tamayura: Graduation Photos Part 4: Tomorrow -Tomorrow-) on Saturday. The video previews Maaya Sakamoto's theme song "Sotsugyō Shashin" (Graduation Photos). The fourth and final Tamayura film will open in select theaters in Japan on April 2 and run for two weeks.

The film was originally slated to open in Japan on February 20, but the anime franchise's official website announced earlier this month that the film would be delayed to April 2. The films' production committee explained that they decided on the delay to improve the quality of the work, as it is the finale of the series.

The limited-edition Blu-ray Discs sold at participating theaters have also been delayed to April 2, and other retailers will sell the regular-edition Blu-ray Discs on May 12.

After all four films open in Japan, the staff will hold Tamayura "graduation ceremonies" this April. There will be two locations for the ceremonies in Yokosuka City (April 10) in Tokyo's Kanto area and Takehara City (April 24) in Hiroshima Prefecture, the setting of the anime. The four Blu-ray Discs sold at participating theaters would have bundled entry forms for advance tickets to the graduation ceremonies. However, with the fourth film's delay, potential ticket buyers will only have to submit serial numbers from the first three films during the application period (February 20 and March 16).

The four films collectively have the title Tamayura: Sotsugyō Shashin (Tamayura: Graduation Photos). The first film, Tamayura: Sotsugyō Shashin Dai-1-bu -Kizashi- (Tamayura: Graduation Photos Part 1: Sprout), opened on April 4, and the second film opened on August 29. The third film in the series, Tamayura: Sotsugyō Shashin Dai-3-bu -Akogare- (Tamayura: Graduation Photos Part 3: Adoration), opened in Japan in November. Maaya Sakamoto performed the theme songs "Korekara" (From Here On) and "Sotsugyō Shashin" (Graduation Photos).

The story of the first film is set in the spring, when Fū, Kaoru, Norie, and Maon get promoted to third-year high school students, while Kanae has graduated. Two kōhai (students younger than the original characters) join the photography club. Even though they bring in new friends, their lively daily life remains unchanged. Yet, the four third-year students are slowly thinking about their own future dreams and paths as they face graduation in about a year. Aya Uchida and Mayu Iizuka play the kōhai.

The Tamayura anime project with an original concept by Junichi Satō premiered in 2010 with a series of original video animation (OVA) volumes. The project then spawned a television anime series titled Tamayura - Hitotose in 2011, with a second season titled Tamayura - More Aggressive airing in 2013.
