1st volumes launched on Tuesday

Kodansha Comics released the first volumes of Waka Miyama's Elegant Yokai Apartment Life and Pedoro Toriumi's Black Panther and Sweet 16 manga digitally on Tuesday.

Hinowa Kōzuki launched the Yōkai Apāto no Yūga na Nichijō (Elegant Yokai Apartment Life) light novel series in 2003, and concluded it in 2009 with 10 volumes (and a later side-story collection in 2013). Miyama launched the ongoing manga adaptation in Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in 2011.

Kodansha Comics describes the manga:

Yokai, ghosts, and humans living together in harmony? Yushi Inaba was taken in by his uncle's family after losing his parents in an accident three years ago. Now sixteen and eager to make it on his own, he hopes to move into dorm upon entering high school. But by a cruel twist of fate, the dorm burns to the ground! After searching high and low, Yushi finally manages to find an apartment at the too-good-to-be-true price of 25,000 yen per month! Sure enough, there's one condition: the apartment is haunted! Surrounded by a gaggle of colorful tenants, Yushi's "normal" high school life begins!

The novels are inspiring a television anime that premiered on July 3 and will continue this fall for a second cour (quarter of a year). Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.

Kodansha Comics describes the story of Black Panther and Sweet 16 (Kurohyō to 16-Sai):

Taiga, a teenage girl with a complex about her aggressive nature, has just moved to Tokyo when she runs across a boy passed out from starvation. She lends him a drink, but he ends up stealing a kiss! Then, on her first day at her new school, that boy, Anri Iseya, comes up to her and declares himself to be her pet?! This dangerous mission between a black beast and a strong-willed 16-year-old begins now!

Toriumi (Amai Akuma ga Warau) launched the ongoing manga in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine in August 2015. Kodansha published the sixth compiled volume on August 10.
