Shaft's Magical Suite Prism Nana Anime Website Posts 2nd OVA

2nd OVA inspires stage play adaptation that runs on September 13-18

The official website for the Magical Suite Prism Nana OVA project began streaming the anime's second OVA on Monday to promote the franchise's upcoming stage play adaptation (which is based on this OVA). The video will be available until September 18.

The episode is titled "Hoshizora-hen" (Starry Sky Story). Seiya Numata wrote and directed the episode, and Rina Iwamoto designed the characters. The second episode screened at an event in April 2016.

The first episode, titled "Yume Kanaetai...!? Kibō no Advance (Zenpen)" (I Want to Make Your Dream Come True...!? Advance of Hope: First Part), screened at an event in November 2015. Yukihiro Miyamoto directed the episode, with a script by Miku Ooshima, and character designs by Kazuya Shiotsuki. The third episode, titled "Medal no Kuni no Halloween ~Noriko to Yōsei~" (Halloween in the Land of Medal ~Noriko and Fairy~), is currently in production. Hajime Ohtani is director and scriptwriter for the episode, and Etsuko Sumimoto is designing the characters.

The project will have seven episodes, and the director and the screenwriter will change between episodes. These episodes will utilize the "star system," where the same characters will star in each episode but the staff for each episode will have freedom in style and story.

The stage play, titled Magical Suite Prism Nana The Starry Stage, will run for eight performances at Tokyo's Sunshine Theatre on September 13-18.

The OVA's cast includes:

Daisy × Daisy, who previously performed the song "Hoshizora Connection" for the project's seventh promotional video, performs music for the OVA.

SHAFT first announced the project with prototype Nendoroids at Comiket in 2012. The project previously spawned a series of pachislo (pachinko parlor slot) machines and a seven-part pilot promotional video series. The project's Facebook page announced in June 2015 that the project would get an OVA series.

Kantoku (The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat.) is responsible for the original character designs. The story centers around three adolescent girls — seventh grader Kotone Oribe/Aqua Nana (voiced by Eri Kitamura), eighth grader Itaru Washioka/Heat Nana (Suzuko Mimori), and eighth grader Asuka Asagi/Earth Nana (Asami Imai) — from a future not too distant from our own time.
