C3 AFA Singapore Adds Tomohisa Sakō, Konomi Suzuki, TRUE, Mashiro Ayano, Moso Calibration as Musical Guests

Singapore convention takes place on November 24-26

The Anime Festival Asia convention revealed additional musical guests on Friday for its C3 AFA Singapore event. The new guests include Tomohisa Sakō, Konomi Suzuki, Moso Calibration, TRUE, and Mashiro Ayano.

Sakō hails from the city of Sapporo in Hokkaido prefecture, and began writing songs after he graduated from high school. In 2009, he began uploading songs online under the handle ShōnenT. He self-published a CD of original songs titled "Promise" under the name "Tomohisa" in 2011. He made his major debut under SME Records with the single "Ai no Kotoba" in 2012, now using his full name. He has since released 12 singles and two albums. He has performed theme songs for such anime as You and Me. Season 2, Blast of Tempest, Meganebu!, Pokémon XY, and Natsume Yūjin-Chō Roku.

Suzuki debuted at age 15 after winning Animax's fifth All-Japan Anison (anime song) Grand Prix singing contest in 2011. She has since performed songs for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, No Game, No Life, Dusk maiden of Amnesia, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, WATAMOTE, Freezing Vibration, Lord Marksman and Vanadis, Absolute Duo, BBK/BRNK, Ange Vierge, and Akashic Records of Bastard Magical Instructor, among others. She will make her major voice-acting debut in the upcoming Lost Song anime, though she previously had a minor role in Dusk maiden of Amnesia.

Moso Calibration is an idol group currently composed Mahiru Kurumizawa, Usa Sakurano, Nia Hoshino, Iori Amamiya, and Yumeko Mizuki. The group started out independently in 2013, debuting at the Akihabara Dear Stage. The group released eight singles independently, before signing on to Sony Music Records in 2016. The group has released five singles professionally. The group's fourth single, "Geki Yaba∞Bokkān!!," was used as the second ending song for the Time Bokan 24 anime, while the fifth single, "Sakura-Iro Diary," was used as the ending theme song for the Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend Flat anime.

TRUE is the stage name of singer Miho Karasawa, who debuted with her first single in 2000. Her major breakthrough came with her second single, "Way to Love," which was used as an insert song in the Love Revolution live-action series. She released eight singles from 2000 to 2004. She wrote lyrics for various artists after that, before debuting again under the stage name TRUE in 2013. Her debut single "Unisonia" under her new name was used as the opening theme song for the Buddy Complex anime. Since then, she has released a total of 11 singles under the name TRUE, and is noted for performing theme songs on such anime as Sound! Euphonium, SukaSuka, Beautiful Bones: Sakurako's Investigation, Comet Lucifer, Maria the Virgin Witch, and Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. Her latest single, "Butterfly Effector," was used as the opening theme song for the Hina Logic - from Luck & Logic anime. She is slated to perform the opening theme song for Kyoto Animation's Violet Evergarden anime, which premieres in January.

Mashiro Ayano debuted in 2014 with her single "ideal white," which served as the opening theme song for the first season of the Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works anime. She also performed the theme songs for Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation and D.Gray-man Hallow, and debuted her new song "NewLook" as the first ending theme song for the Re:CREATORS television anime, which premiered on April 8. She debuted her first studio album, WHITE PLACE, last October.

The convention is one of five in content company Sotsu Co., Ltd. and Singaporean events and marketing agency SOZO Pte Ltd.'s "C3 AFA" joint events that bring together their C3 and Anime Festival Asia events. Aside from Singapore, the events have also run in Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan, and will also have an event in Hong Kong in February 2018.

The convention will take place at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition & Convention Center on November 24-26. Other musical guests include ClariS, FLOW, fripSide, Luce Twinkle Wink☆, May'n, and Shiena Nishizawa. The event will also hold a preview screening of the first episode of Kyoto Animation's upcoming Violet Evergarden television anime.
