Manga chronicles authors' fictionalized adventures in haunted city spots

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced on Thursday that it has licensed Masakazu Ishiguro and Kōji Onodera's Soremite - Soredemo Rei ga Mite Mitai (Even So, I Want to See a Spirit) manga.

The manga depicts and fictionalizes Ishiguro and Onodera's adventures in supposed haunted spots and places of urban legend. The authors, both avid fans of ghost stories, are the main characters in the manga.

Ishiguro and Onodera launched the manga in Shonengahosha's Young King Ours magazine in 2012, and ended it in 2015. Shonengahosha published three compiled book volumes for the manga.

Ishiguro ended his And Yet the Town Moves (Sore de mo Machi wa Mawatteiru) manga in December 2016 after 11 years. The manga inspired a television anime that premiered in Japan in October 2010. He will launch a new manga titled Tengoku Dai Makyō in the March issue of Kodansha's Afternoon magazine on January 25.
