Company will also release Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans season two this summer

Sunrise announced at its Anime Boston panel on Friday that Funimation licensed the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion recap film trilogy.

The films will recap all 50 episodes of both Code Geass series. The cast are re-recording all their lines for the films, and the films will include new scenes.

The first film in the compilation recap trilogy, Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Kōdō (lit.: The Awakening Path, official English subtitle: Initiation), opened in Japan on October 21. The second film, Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Handō (lit.: The Rebellion Path, official English subtitle: Transgression), opened in Japan on February 10. The third film Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Ōdō (lit.: The Imperial Path, official English subtitle: Glorification) will open in Japan on May 26.

Additional details regarding the films' North American release will be announced in the future.

Sunrise also announced that Funimation will release the second season of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans on home video this summer. The series aired on Toonami last October.

The 25-episode first season premiered in Japan in October 2015, followed by the second season in October 2016. Daisuki, Gundam.info, and Hulu streamed the first season as it aired. Crunchyroll also streamed both seasons, followed by the anime with an English dub in February 2017.
