My Hero Academia Film's Teaser Shows New 'I Island' Setting, Younger All Might

The official website for the My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Futari no Hero (My Hero Academia the Movie: The Two Heroes) anime film began streaming a teaser trailer for the film on Wednesday. The teaser offers a short glimpse of the film's new "I Island" setting and a younger All Might.

The film will open in Japan on August 3.

The film will take place "overseas," on a giant manmade floating movable city called "I Island." The film will take place after the Final Exam Arc, during "another summer" during the "Forest Training Arc." In addition, the film will show the "younger days" of All Might.

Original manga creator Kōhei Horikoshi is credited with the original work, character designs, and as chief supervisor. Returning staff members include Kenji Nagasaki at BONES, scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and composer Yuki Hayashi. TOHO is distributing the film.

The movie will show the previously unrevealed past of a certain character, and will also feature the characters of Class A.

The third television anime season based on the manga will premiere on April 7, and will remain in the 5:30 p.m. timeslot on Saturdays that the second season held on YTV, NTV, and 27 other network affiliates. Funimation will stream the English dub of the third season on the same day that the series will premiere in Japan. Crunchyroll and Hulu will stream the series with English subtitles. The first six episodes of the series will be available with simultaneous dubs. The season is listed with 25 episodes.

Horikoshi launched the superhero manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014, and Shueisha published the 17th compiled volume on February 2. The 18th volume will ship on April 4. The manga has more than 13 million copies in print. Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally in its Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and in print.
