Blame!, Knights of Sidonia omnibus volumes announced

Vertical Comics announced at Anime Central on Friday that it has licensed the Kino's Journey and Go with the Clouds, North by Northwest (Hokuhokusei ni Kumori Yuke) manga and the Sherlock Holmes and Hirobumi Ito novel.

In addition the company plans to release the new Blame! manga in one collective volume and a Knights of Sidonia Master's Edition omnibus in April 2019. There will be seven Knights of Sidonia omnibus volumes with 3.5 volumes each.

Vertical aims to release Kino's Journey beginning in summer 2019. Iruka Shiomiya's manga adaptation of Keiichi Sigsawa's Kino no Tabi - the Beautiful World (Kino's Journey) light novel series launched in March 2017 and Kadokawa will publish the second volume on June 9.

Sigsawa began serializing Kino's Journey in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki HP in 2000. The novel was adapted into a 13-episode anime in 2003, movies premiered in 2005 and 2007, and a new television anime in 2017. Sigsawa also published a spinoff series of novels titled Gakuen Kino about Kino as a high school girl from 2006 to 2011. A manga adaptation of Gakuen Kino launched in Dengeki G's Festival Comic in 2010.

The story follows the travels of Kino, a young adventurer who rides a talking motorcycle named Hermes. They explore the people and cultures of different places throughout their adventures, spending only three days at each location.

Vertical will release Aki Irie's Go with the Clouds, North by Northwest manga in May 2019. The mystery story is set in Iceland and follows a 17-year-old boy who is searching for a certain man. The boy has three secrets: his car can talk, he's weak around pretty women, and he is a detective.

Irie launched the series in Kadokawa's Harta magazine in March 2016. Kadokawa released the second volume on March 15.

Viz Media announced its license for Ran And The Gray World manga in March.

Vertical plans to release Keisuke Matsuoka's Sherlock Holmes and Hirobumi Ito novel in March 2019.

The novel follows detective Sherlock Holmes on a trip to Japan, where he teams with Japan's first Prime Minister Hirobumi Ito to solve a mystery with international implications.

Kodansha published the novel in June 2017.

Update: Kino's Journey manga image fixed. The image previously showed a different manga that began in Dengeki Daioh in May 2017. Thanks, Suxinn.
