Manga creator Michio Murakawa launched a new spinoff manga for the Girls und Panzer franchise titled Girls und Panzer Momi no Ki to Tetsu no Hane no Majo (Girls und Panzer: The Witch With Wings of Fir and Iron) in Kadokawa's ComicWalker website on Thursday. The next chapter will debut on December 15.

The manga centers around Noemi Kohiyama, a second-year student at Count High School, a school with no established reputation in the world of tankery. Her first match as a tank commander is against Saunders University High School. She directs the crew of her tank with her orders, and she follows the orders of their team leader. At that time, she remembers the words that her senior said to her.

Murakawa is currently drawing the manga adaptation of the Space Battleship Yamato 2199 anime, and is also credited for Display Design for the anime. Kadokawa published the manga's eighth compiled book volume in March 2016. Murakawa is also credited for Monitor Design for the Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory anime.

The original Girls und Panzer television anime series aired for 12 episodes in 2012-2013. The Girls und Panzer der Film anime film followup opened in Japan in November 2015.

The first film in the six-part Girls und Panzer das Finale film project opened in Japan in December 2017. The second film will open in June 2019.
