Muse Asia Licenses BOFURI Season 2, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Anime

Muse Asia announced on Monday that it has licensed the BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. season 2, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, and The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess anime.

The second season of the anime of Yuumikan's BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. light novel series was originally scheduled to premiere this year, but it was moved to January 2023.

Shin Oonuma (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, WATAMOTE) is back to direct the anime's second season at SILVER LINK (Mirai Minato co-directed the first season with Oonuma). Fumihiko Shimo (Anima Yell!, New Game!) is again in charge of series composition. Kazuya Hirata (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Sunohara-Sō no Kanrinin-san) is again designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Hiroyuki Honda is also serving as chief animation director. Taro Masuda is returning to compose the music. The vocal group Junjō no Afilia (Afilia Saga) is performing the opening song titled "Kono Tate ni Kakuremasu" (I Will Hide Behind this Shield), and singer FRAM is performing the ending song titled "Step for Joy."

The first anime of Yuumikan's Itai no wa Iya nano de Bōgyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu. novels premiered in Japan in January 2020. Muse Asia streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

The novels' story centers on Kaede Honjō, who is invited by her friend Risa Shiramine to play a virtual reality MMO game with her. While Kaede doesn't dislike games, what she really, truly dislikes is being in pain. She creates a character named Maple, and decides to put all her points in VIT to minimize pain. As a result, she moves slowly, can't use magic, and even a rabbit can get the best of her. But as it turns out, she acquires a skill known as "Absolute Defense" as a result of her pumping points into VIT, as well as a "Counter Skill" that works against special moves. Now, with her ability to nullify all damage, she goes on adventures.

The television anime of Miri Mikawa and aki's Sugar Apple Fairy Tale light novel series will premiere in Japan on January 6.

Youhei Suzuki (Urara Meirochō, Planet With, Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Seishi Minakami (A Certain Scientific Railgun, Occult Academy, No. 6) is in charge of series composition. Haruko Iizuka (Umi Monogatari, School-Live!, Horimiya) is designing the characters for animation. Hinako Tsubakiyama (Sabikui Bisco) is composing the music. Flying Dog is credited for music production.

Minori Suzuki (Macross Delta) is performing the opening theme song "Musical." Sumire Morohoshi is performing the ending theme song "Kanaeru" (To Grant).

Yen Press has licensed both the original light novel series and YozoranoUdon's manga adaptation, and it describes the story:

In a world where fairies are bought and sold to the highest bidder, humans aren't exactly on friendly terms with the fae folk. But friendship is exactly what Anne Halford seeks with Challe, her new fairy bodyguard, though he's not so keen on the idea. As his new master, Anne tasks him with escorting her through a particularly dangerous area, but with a reluctant bodyguard eager to escape a life of servitude, she'll have to deal with a lot more than she bargained for...

The television anime of Piero Karasu's The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess (Tensei Ōjo to Tensai Reijō no Mahō Kakumei) light novels will premiere in Japan on January 4.

Shingo Tamaki (Aho Girl, Ahiru no Sora) is directing the anime at diomedéa. Wataru Watari, the writer of the My youth romantic comedy is wrong as I expected. light novel series, is in charge of the series scripts. Naomi Ide (Riddle Story of Devil, Kan Colle, Domestic Girlfriend) is designing the characters.

HaNaTan is performing the anime's opening theme song "Arc-en-Ciel." Sayaka Senbongi and Manaka Iwami — who voice the characters Anisphia and Euphyllia in the anime, respectively — are performing the ending theme song "Only for You."

Yen Press licensed both the light novels and its manga adaptation. Yen Press describes the story:

Despite her supposed ineptitude with regular magic, Princess Anisphia defies the aristocracy's expectations by developing “magicology,” a unique magical theory based on memories from her past life. One day, she witnesses the brilliant noblewoman Euphyllia unjustly stripped of her title as the kingdom's next monarch. That's when Anisphia concocts a plan to help Euphyllia regain her good name-which somehow involves them living together and researching magic! Little do these two ladies know, however, that their chance encounter will alter not only their own futures, but those of the kingdom...and the entire world!
