The official X (formerly Twitter) account for The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage rhythm game announced on July 2 that the game will undergo structural and operational changes, including the end of the PC version of the game and the Starlight Spot companion app. Both will cease operations on August 21.

The removal of content such as covers will start on July 31, with four cover songs ("Hare Hare Yukai," "God Knows...," "Bōken desho desho?," "Lost my music") ending distribution, and all other cover songs will end distribution on August 31. Other changes include the end of new content, converting past events into a rotating roster, a change in the structure of paid currency, and several other changes.

The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage rhythm game launched for iOS and Android devices in 2015. The PC version launched in fall 2021.

The first of the The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls games ended service on March 30, 2023.

The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls franchise began as a mobile phone social game spinoff of The Idolm@ster games. Unlike the first The Idolm@ster games, which focus on a group of 13 idols in a minor idol agency, The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls introduced the story of a larger set of entirely new characters in an idol agency in a large and well-funded multimedia conglomerate. The game later spawned multiple manga and its own television anime.

Kyowno's The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls U149 manga inspired a television anime in 2023.
