WASHINGTON DC - 15 May 2005: DVD Vision Japan is proud to announce that Anne R. from New Jersey has been selected as the winner of our first annual "Mascot Idol" contest.

"Everyone at DVD Vision Japan is excited about Anne being the winner of our first annual Mascot Idol contest." said Public Relations Editor Stephanie Costello. "All of the finalists were outstanding cosplayers and great people. The decision wasn't an easy one, but Annie embodies all that DVD Vision Japan aspires to be for the fans. We know she'll be an excellent spokesperson and we're looking forward to introducing our Sakura to the world at Otakon 2005!"

Anne had this to say about her win. "It is truly an honor to have been chosen as the DVD Vision Japan Mascot Idol, Sakura. I am looking forward to representing the company at conventions, along with meeting all of the other girls! I am excited to be able to wear the costume and play the part of such an interesting character. This has been an amazing experience participating in the contest! And again, I am honored to have been chosen."

You can check out pictures of Anne from Katsucon 2005, a list of sponsors, prizes, and websites supporting the contest at the official "DVD Vision Japan Mascot Idol" page at: http://www.dvdvisionjapan.com/mascotcontest.html.
