MiS Productions, Japan-A-Radio Announce Third Season for 'Unwound'

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 28, 2006) – MiS Productions and its subsidiary, MiS Radio Networks, announced this morning that it will be producing a third season of the popular anime review radio program UNWOUND. UNWOUND is a weekly one hour radio program, and broadcast its first episode on June 26, 2004, on the MiS Radio Networks' flagship station Japan-A-Radio. Featuring co-hosts Jesse Barredo and Michael Garcia, the show reviews Japanese animation and related news, as well as providing domestic DVD release information. The third season will begin broadcasting its first episode on September 24, 2006, with reviews on Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu and Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid. MiS has ordered twenty-two episodes, and will continue to broadcast episodes biweekly, on Sunday nights at 6pm Pacific/9pm Eastern. The season is scheduled to end on July 15, 2007.

Continuing to deliver its trademark reviews and jocular discussion, changes to the program will include an experimental listener call-in segment, anime industry news reports from Egan Loo, and live online chat segments using Japan-A-Radio's IRC server (provided by MiS Productions' d00mnet.com IRC network). Also, the format of the program will extend from one hour to two. Planned features will include industry interviews, convention visits, and the podcast archive of shows from previous seasons made available to Japan-A-Radio subscribers. Behind-the-scenes, Michael Garcia will join Shon Elliott as executive producer, and new staff will be added to assist in production duties. While Barredo and Garcia are signed for a complete season, co-host Jenn Lee's involvement with the production is still under negotiation at the time of this release.
