GDH Announces Capital and Business Partnership with WangYou Media

GONZO's new animation titles to be streamed online in China
2007.08.15
GDH K.K. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Shinichirō Ishikawa, Securities Code: TSE Mothers 3755, hereafter GDH) has announced today that its board of directors has approved its capital and business partnership with WangYou Media Limited (Head Office: British Virgin Islands, Co-Founder and CEO: Buddy Ye, hereafter WangYou Media).

In hopes of fortifying the cooperative online animation streaming business, GDH will establish a strategic partnership with WangYou Media, supplemented by a capital partnership in which GDH invests a total amount of US$500,000 for animation distribution to PCs in China.

GDH will provide new GONZO animation titles through WangYou Media's Chinese online animation streaming website 8850.com. The website will also be updated regularly with various animation video which GONZO K.K. was involved in production of, and many other popular contents produced by Japanese animation companies will be available through aggregation supported by GDH.

In its operation of 8850.com, WangYou Media will leverage the expertise of its affiliate company, Beijing Yangguang Wangshi Internet Technology Co. Ltd. (Head Office: Shanghai, Chairman: Buddy Ye), who operates Wangyou.com, China's major SNS website with more than 10 million registered members consisting mainly of young adults between 13-25 years old. WangYou Media has also been entrusted with "Business-Model Verification Program to Promote the Export of Japanese Animation to China" as part of "Content Industry International Exchange Project in Asia 2007." The project is promoted by Digital Content Association of Japan, a public-service corporation designated by Media and Content Industry Division under Commerce and Information Policy Bureau of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. While providing internationally popular Japanese animation to the Chinese market, WangYou Media will undertake evaluation of the business model by collecting and analyzing data of user traffic, revenues from user fees, and volume change in pirated content of Japanese animation.

GDH has been actively delivering GONZO brand content to both Japanese and overseas fans. GDH will take a full advantage of this business partnership to promote permeation of Japanese animation in the Chinese market via a legal means and also to expand its business potentials.
