Anime-zing! in Iowa Announces Doctor Awkward

Davenport, IA - March 31, 2013 - Iowa anime convention, Anime-zing!, is happy to announce that Nerdcore rapper Doctor Awkward will be appearing and performing at Anime-zing! 2013 at the Clarion Hotel in Davenport, Iowa from May 3-5. Following the announcement that V is for Villains is no longer able to perform this year, convention organizers are very excited to have Doctor Awkward fill the concert needs of Iowa congoers.

Dr. Awkward is a Nerdcore rapper with several hit songs and performances at Nerdapalooza and after parties at Comic Con, Florida's Nerd Invasion, and Texas' Comicpalooza. In 2009, Dr. Awkward released his first solo project "Next Gen," in which Doc proclaims that he is the future of Nerdcore Hip Hop. The EP was hailed as an instant classic, with hits like "Geekquilibrium" and "Imposter." Dr. Awkward release his latest album, "Unlimited" in April 2010, which features an amazing fusion of Nerdcore, Hip Hop, and R&B. His website is

Previously scheduled V is for Villains are unable to perform this year due to an injury, and we hope they will be able to return soon.

Anime-zing! features three fully-filled days of events, dances, lessons, workshops, autographs, and beyond, giving fans of Japanese animation an opportunity to gather and celebrate their fandom.
