Nekocon Announces the Return of the Spin Cycle DJ Contest

Nekocon 2013 - November 1st – 3rd
Hampton Roads Convention Center

Nekocon announces the return of the Spin Cycle DJ Contest!

You heard the rumors, and you've been waiting for more, well here it is!

The Spin Cycle 2013

Only the brave will enter this brutal contest that will test a DJ's mettle, quickness, and old school mixing skills! Only 1 will emerge as the new Spin Cycle Champion.

Here's how it works. 3 DJ's will be chosen to compete on stage before the Friday Night Dance for a chance to be crowned the Spin Cycle Champion! The winner will then spin the rest of the night away at their very first dance as the new Champion. They will additionally receive a free weekend membership for Nekocon 17, spotlight on the 2014 website, an opening set at one of the 2014 Dances, along with the title of Spin Cycle Champion!

But how is the champion determined? What methods can we use to judge their skill, and technique? The only way a DJ really can be rated….by a panel of International DJ professionals! …oh….and of course YOU the crowd!

So what makes the Spin Cycle so brutal you ask? Doesn't seem too bad; just have to get on stage and battle against 2 other DJs …right? Correct! But here's the catch. All 3 will be on stage together at the same time, and, when given a signal, the next DJ in line must spin into whatever is currently being played! Given all the different styles out there…yea…it's gonna be brutal!

So wanna see if they've got the skills? The backbone to step up, and throw down? Make sure you're a part of the Spin Cycle, because the 2013 contestants have been locked and loaded and are preparing their arsenal for an all-out DJ war!
