WasabiCon Returns to Jacksonville, FL for Year 6

WASABICON, JACKSONVILLE'S FAVORITE POP CULTURE CONVENTION, RETURNS FOR YEAR SIX!

The event will take place at the Lexington Hotel & Conference Center Jacksonville Riverwalk.

(JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, October 9, 2017) WasabiCon, Jacksonville's locally known pop culture, fantasy, sci-fi, and gaming convention, will be hosted (again) at the Lexington Hotel & Conference Center Jacksonville Riverwalk located at 1515 Prudential Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. The two-day celebration will take place October 21-22, 2017 and starts at 10:00 AM each morning, with registration opening at 9:00 AM.

In addition to vendors, artists, and all-day tabletop and video gaming, WasabiCon will offer several special attractions for attendees. Kimberly Brooks, the voice of Allura on the hit Netflix series Voltron: Legendary Defender, will be on hand to meet attendees. Fan will also recognize her as the voice of Jasper from Steven Universe and Ashley Williams from the video game series Mass Effect. Anime and sci-fi fans will be excited for the chance to meet Todd Haberkorn, best-known as Natsu from Fairy Tail and Spock from Star Trek Continues as well as many other notable roles. Also scheduled to appear: the 219th Brain Surgeons Cosplay, Bold City Cosplay, Candy Keane, the Delta Fleet, Extra Life Jax, For the Love of Clod, Fred & Elle Designs, Geekapella, Jenifer Ann, Noise Complaint, None Like Joshua, North Florida Ghostbusters, NOS Anime, Sailor Scouts of Jacksonville, and Tayrex Cosplay.

WasabiCon has expanded its video game programming this year to include tournaments hosted by local businesses GLHF Game Bar and Video Game Rescue. In addition to WasabiCon's game rooms, a special room will be hosted by Microsoft. PLUS: the annual WasabiCon Costume Contest is sponsored by Video Games Live this year! Tickets are available for purchase online (before October 18th) or at the event: $30 for Saturday, $20 for Sunday, or $40 for the weekend. Children under 3 years old get in for free. Parking is $5 at the venue.
