Friendship Knows No Borders in Seven Seas' License of Satoko and Nada Manga

(LOS ANGELES, March 16, 2018) – Seven Seas Entertainment is thrilled to announce the license acquisition of Satoko and Nada by Yupechika, a charming fictional manga about the friendship between a woman from Japan and her roommate: a Muslim woman from Saudi Arabia!

Satoko, who is Japanese, has a new roommate in America: a Saudi Arabian woman named Nada, who practices Islam and wears a hijab. While under the same roof, Satoko and Nada learn how to live together with very different customs and still have all the fun young women crave! Through mutual respect—and the hilarious adventures of their daily life—Satoko and Nada prove that friendship knows no borders.

“This manga is a really special story, and we're excited to bring it to more audiences in English,” says Seven Seas Publisher Jason DeAngelis. “Publishing manga in North America is already a cross-cultural experience, but this manga expands on that theme even further: it's about two women from two very different countries, one of whom practices Islam, living together in America. It's a funny, relatable series about celebrating our differences while laughing at all the things we have in common.”

Seven Seas will publish the manga Satoko and Nada for the first time in North America in single volume editions. Volume 1 will be released on October 9, 2018 for $12.99 USA / $15.99 CAN.
