New Service Lets You Take Photos with 70 Danganronpa Characters


HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (November 21, 2021) - As part of the Danganronpa video game series' 10th Anniversary, Spike Chunsoft, Inc. today announced the launch of Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc Photo Frame AR. Using augmented reality technology and a user's own smartphone, this online-based service lets fans take photos with all 70 characters from the Danganronpa series.

The company is providing this service to commemorate the upcoming Danganronpa 10th Anniversary event, and as a means to express gratitude to fans of the series, with the hope that fans can enjoy Danganronpa in the real world by adding virtual characters into the scenes of their daily lives.

How to Use the Service

  1. To access the service, click on the link above, then tap Start.
  2. Choose one of 70 characters. Tap the icon in the lower-right to begin.
  3. Check the preview. Tap the icon in the lower-right to continue.
  4. Move your device until the camera mode is activated.
  5. Place the character in camera mode. Pinch and slide to adjust the size and placement of the character.

The photos you take will be automatically saved on your device.

About the Danganronpa 10th Anniversary
The Danganronpa series celebrated its 10th Anniversary in November 2020. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, the first title in the series, was released for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) in Japan on November 25, 2010, then later overseas. The video game series features three main titles Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, as well as the spin-off, Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. The games have been released on multiple platforms including PS4, PS Vita, PC, and smartphones. On December 3, 2021, Spike Chunsoft, Inc. will release Danganronpa Deca-Dence for Nintendo Switch.

On Saturday, November 27, 2021 (Japan Standard Time), Spike Chunsoft will host a live audience for the Danganronpa 10th Anniversary Event: Ultimate Class Reunion. The event will be streamed online from the Tokorozawa Sakura Town Japan Pavilion in Saitama, Japan. The cast includes:

About Danganronpa Deca-Dence
The Danganronpa series is coming to Nintendo Switch™ on December 3, 2021. Players can get all four titles, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition, and Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp, together in the physical release, Danganronpa Deca-Dence. In the acclaimed series, you must use high-speed deductive action to expose a murderer.
