Two Icons Join The Fight as Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 Celebrates Fifth Anniversary
IRVINE, Calif – July 27, 2023 - MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION 2 is celebrating the 5th anniversary of its original Japanese launch with the addition of two legendary mobile suits – the Hi-Nu Gundam, available now, and the fearsome Nightingale, coming on August 2nd. Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., the online free-to-play game based on GUNDAM's “Universal Century” timeline pits players in intense 6v6 battles. Also in celebration of the anniversary, players will be able to play special campaigns and take advantage of in-game bonuses today through August 24. The 5th anniversary update is available now on PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5, and will be coming to PC via STEAM® at a later date. The new update for MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION 2 will bring the iconic Hi-Nu Gundam and Nightingale from MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM: CHAR'S COUNTERATTACK - BELTORCHIKA'S CHILDREN to the battlefield. Both suits will bring their powerful arsenal of beam rifles, melee weapons, and remote-powered devices known as funnels capable of precise long-range attacks against enemy pilots. Players can now acquire Hi-Nu Gundam and its associated weaponry through Supply Drops that are purchased with Tokens, the game's premium currency. Nightingale will be available on August 2nd. The update also unlocks anniversary campaigns and in-game activations that run from July 27 to Aug. 24. These include a new “Ghost of Solomon” Battle Simulator mission, free weekly 10-Consecutive Supply Drops, additional items gifted based on the number of days played in MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION 2, and much more. MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION 2 features intense 6v6 online team combat that immerses pilots from around the world in epic battles. Players can battle in their favorite Mobile Suits in land and space. They can also fight against other pilots in Infantry Battles, where they can enter and exit their mecha for strategic ground-based combat that can tip the tide of battle, placing bombs in enemy bases, repairing their units, or requesting support fire. MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION 2 features over 350 Mobile Suits and 17 playable maps inspired by iconic locations based on the popular anime series.
