Netflix will release its first Korean original animated film, Lost in Starlight, on May 30. Directed by Ji-won Han, the film features voice performances by Tae-ri Kim and Hong Kyung. Han and Hyun-joo Kang are writing the film.

Set in the year 2050, Lost in Starlight tells the story of Nan-young, an astronaut with dreams of Mars, and Jay, a musician whose dreams have stalled. Their paths cross in a near-future Seoul, where love and hope bring them together under the stars.

The teaser poster reveals the film's distinctive retro-cyberpunk setting, showing Nan-young and Jay against a backdrop of pink skies and vinyl records. The teaser trailer begins with their first meeting at an audio repair shop, where Nan-young visits to fix a record player left by her mother. Their relationship unfolds slowly from that encounter.

As Nan-young prepares to leave for Mars, the story raises the question of how their relationship will survive across such a vast distance. The film explores themes of love, distance, and perseverance.
