Wow, this is unexpected but amazing news. First Catherine gets announced by Atlus for North America and now School Days! Could this week get any better?

Demonbane is coming out soon, and Koihime is selling better for MangaGamer then any other title they have. It kinda feels like VNs are FINALLY on the cusp of being a viable product in English.

On School Days: I feel that I almost have to get this game, and see an ending I approve of. That anime ending is never going to be canon for me.

So Manga Gamer licenses and releases the games for both halves of Higurashi, Shuffle, Koihime Musou (including a sweepstakes with Sentai Filmworks), various Da Capo games, and the only mention of them is in the drama between NNL and minori.

While JAST licenses School Days and it's somehow ANN-newsworthy.

That's some amazing editorial slant there...

Probably not. (>")>

And the anime was amazing. It illustrated the result of trying to maintain an actual harem, in a society where monogamy is the norm and where the females have actual egos, quite powerfully. I was exceedingly impressed with it.

I've been impressed with Jast's recent licenses, such as Demonbane, Aselia the Eternal, My Girlfriend is the President, and now School Days. It seems they are finally going to have more games to rival Mangagamer's best titles. I hope these all do well along with Mangagamer's Koihime Musou so that these licenses keep on coming.

Nice to see more VNs getting picked up.

Now, as far as I know School Days did have a fan translation or at least parts of it have been translated. Is JAST talking to the group who translated and made a patch so they can use that as an official release? I know a lot of fan groups tend to try and work out a deal if a VN gets picked up.
