Well, there's livejournal, lots of communities on there are set up for trading and/or selling and/or buying anime and/or manga.

There is a sales thread here too. You need to be a member to make a thread, but even non members can look at your posts and send you a private message if they have any interest.

It takes a while to get more of the rarer series, but I use paperbackswap.com. It's for books in general, but I've gotten TONS of manga on there and post my manga I don't want. It works with a credit system, so when you send out a book, you get a credit, and you can use that credit for any book on the site that is posted. But like I said, high in demand books have a long wait, but there are HUNDREDS on manga on there without a wait, new series and out of print. =Paperback&b[]=Hardcover&b[]=Audio+CD&b[]=Audio+Cassette&pd_type=e&pd=&r=n&sby=&oby=ASC&ts=] You can browse the currently available titles here. (the bbccode doesn't like the url very much)

If you end up using it and don't mind stating who pointed you at their site, my username on it is Aila. I get a free book for everyone I suggest join.

Seriously though, it has saved me tons of money (going on two years now, and according to the site I've saved 1,800 dollars, but that's only based on the general used book price of around 4 dollars. Most of what I get are manga which as you know easily go for 10 bucks. If condition or the possibility of getting library discards bothers you, just state it in your "Requester conditions" and if you get a book in the quality of anything but the condition you requested it in you get your credit refunded.

Right now I have coming to me in the mail Mars 6, Mars 9, Bleach 18, Psychic Girl Mai vol 1, and Hana Kimi 8. It's a great site for collecting older, long running series. Helped me a ton in collecting all of Naruto.

Hmm, why haven't I used PBS before?

Well, I just gave you a free book, littlegreenwolf

also, is it just me, or is there not a whole lot of manga posted? As like, available I mean. I added several to my wish list though.

Yes paperbackswap is great, I also use a few other sites to trade manga ( gametz, Mangatude, Live journal and swap.com though I haven't had anoy luck on swap.com) I even trade on my little pony trading post lol, but Im looking for another one since I have so many sets I would like to trade.

Here is what I have for trade

http://mangatude.com/see_all.php?traderid=qr0lhtu28votbzystqe0621052009153025&type=current_trade

Classical there is a good bit available but most is common stuff like Naruto, Oh my godess, Inuyasha.

I would like to find vol 6 of great catsby, st dragons girl, and a few Phoenix vols I do not have.

awesome classicalzawa, thanks! Hope you enjoy pbs as much as I do. If you're not ok with discarded library manga make sure you put it in your requester conditions. It's not often, but every once in a while they pop up.

My wishlist is a good 200 volumes of random manga titles, but they're all old and out of print series for the most part so I'm not really in a rush to get them any time soon. It took almost two years of waiting, but I now just finally got all of kodocha through it (my original collection was all stolen by people I lent it out to Sad). Stuff like Inu Yasha, something I wouldn't dream about paying full price for has been SO easy to collect on it. Something hugely popular like Naruto has little to no wait at all (except for the newer volumes) and the same goes for most any of Yuu Watase's stuff (later volumes have a wait though). Another thing I enjoy about it is how often studio iron cat's Narumi Kakinouchi releases pop up. I have just about every manga of hers released in manga now... though her stories sort of suck, I LOVE her art.

@NeoKitty

Wow, how does the mangatude thing work? Do you just post all the nerdy stuff you have for trade and then what? Do you need to contact the lister and set up a trade? Cus I could sure use that too!

@littlegreenwolf
I was lucky, I managed to get Kodocha from a local comic book store that stocks a lot of consignments of random stuff bought from other comic book stores for $5 a volume. I got all of Kodocha, Marmalade Boy, and Land of the Blindfolded brand new for $5 a volume.

Classical yes you make a list of what you have, and make a want list.
When someone else has something you want you make an offer which sets up the trade, if they accept it shows their address's. I list other things because of my little pony trading post account which I just link people to.

Reakon we have traders from Australia, Japan and all over.

Gah, why are there so many people who haven't logged on in like a year? Does making an offer (and thus emailing them) tend to get them to pay attention?

Actually, someone made me an offer today (it wasn't you, I'm assuming you're also neokitty there, though I see you!), hopefully I shall be trading some anime for some manga!

I use Paperback Swap myself. Occasionally, I get hits on stuff I want but not often. Then again my taste in manga usually leans away from the popular stuff though.
