Another miss for me. I just couldn't get into this show. Too many wash-pans falling I think. Hope it does well for Sentai though.

Modern title made simple more like. Seriously, why do they insist on blanking out good titles in favor of horrible ones?

It is a perfectly legitimate translation of the title. More colloquially they could have called it "Modern Magic for Dummies" (if they wanted to be sued that it).
It might help if I pointed out that in a search on Amazon for よくわかる, this series is the 11th result, under a bunch of Microsoft Office textbooks.

Yeah, I think about the only way to make it more literal would have been something like, "Well Understood Modern Magic." If I were a fan of this title, I suppose I might appreciate it if S23 slapped the Japanese title somewhere on the box for good measure, but at least it didn't get the, "Cat Planet Cuties," treatment.
